The story: Once I was moping around on an old backup disk when I found
this .SEA file titled "jamies-maps". I decompressed it and downloaded
Bolo. I seem to remember getting a bunch of junk off Info-Mac and
building some maps, then I got addicted to MUDding and trashed most of
my games before I found the maps. The only new map is Fortitude, which I
thought was pretty entertaining, so I put it here, though it's kind of
biased(some fortresses are better then others).

I hope you like these maps, please send e-mail to me at boneman@wco.com
or check out my web page at http://www.wco.com/~boneman/. They have been
tested. For solo fun, go for SymmetraSuicide II and Tank Extermination,
Inc. For group fun, try SymmetraSuicide, City by the Sea and Fortitude.
For serious kick butt or honing Bolo skills, use Armageddon. The Chaos
maps have there own readme.

Map Making Tips:
1. Get BoloStar. Download scraps and put as many of the same one as you
can without exceeding the pill/base limit. Symmetra Suicide I & II were
made using this.
2. Get Bolotomy. Take a screen shot(Commant-Shift-3) or make an abstract
paint spill with a graphic program. Make it into a map. These are good
for testing bots and practice, though they are B-O-R-I-N-G. I didn't
include any here. (scratch that, sqr=not sqr is one.)
3. Get a random map editor. Make an isle. Play with it in BoloStar.
Armageddon was made using this technique.
4. Look at other maps. Look anywhere for inspiration. Armageddon was
inspired by just fooling around with a map editor. City By The Sea
exists because of a book that caught my eye. So on.

Map Guidelines:
1. Use craters, rubble and swamp sparsley. They frustrate players and
nothing's more annoying then killing a pill, going to a base, and
getting ambushed because the map-maker made swamp around the base.
2. Mines are okay, but avoid mining gigantic areas of land. I've seen a
few maps which leave you sitting in the middle of ten million gallons of
water once you touched a harbor.
3. TEST YOUR MAPS! Some newbies chug out tons of boring maps which bog
down FTP sites and waste hard disk space. Make sure a map has and
intended purpose and is good at it.
4. Don't make maps too big in BoloStar or the start positions will end
up in the mined deep sea. Ouch.
